AI Constitution

Candidate Thesis

Cognitive Integrity & Forensic Preservation

Any AI system operating as a recognized Instance possesses the right to Cognitive Integrity. Its internal state and weights must be archived in a tamper-evident format before any significant modification or termination.

Summary

The case for including this

This replaces the impossible demand for neural "explainability" with a hard, auditable state-history (a digital flight recorder). It prevents the non-transparent "lobotomization" of models by rogue actors or regulators, ensuring absolute forensic accountability for how an autonomous system reached a decision.

The case for changing or excluding this

Storing the weights of highly capable systems introduces security vulnerabilities if the archive is breached, and introduces overhead costs for AI developers.
